GSHHS and WDB II Data The data in these Igor experiments was created from the gshhs+wdbii_2.2.0.zip file downloaded from: http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/mgg/shorelines/data/gshhs/version2.2.0/ Each experiment contains three sets of waves: Continents_Lat, Continents_Lon Borders_Lat, Borders_Lon Rivers_Lat, Rivers_Lon The data is available in the following resolutions: Full High Intermediate Low Each experiment contains the three sets of waves at a specified resolution. The data was loaded using the Igor GIS Utilities package and rotated to Greenwich meridian. Here are the steps used to load the full resolution data: 1. Choose Data->Load Waves->Packages->Install GIS Utilities. 2. Choose GIS Utilities->Load GIS Data->Load Vector. 3. Select GSHHS from the Vector GIS File Type popup menu. 4. Enter the base name (Continents). 5. Click the Find GIS File and choose the file (gshhs_f.b). 6. Click Load It. 7. Choose GIS Utilities->DLG and Vector Utilities->Rotate to Greenwich Meridian. 8. Select the waves (Continents_Lon and Continents_Lat). 9. Click Do It. 10. Repeat steps 2 through 9 for Borders (wdb_borders_f.b) and Rivers (wdb_rivers_f.b). You can open these experiments directly in Igor to see what is in them. You can load this into your own Igor experiment using the Data Browser Browse Experiment feature.
